Support For Schools

We provide a range of interventions and support for schools and colleges.

Reviews are carried out by safeguarding professionals who have extensive experience of safeguarding and child protection practice and knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.

The scope of the review is dependent on the individual requirements of the school or Multi-Academy Trust and can be carried out both pre and post OFSTED. All reviews conclude with a detailed report which includes clear, actionable recommendations.

Trauma Informed Schools

We provide specialist support for schools who wish to become more trauma informed. This support can be accessed via specialist training for school staff working at both operational and strategic levels and also via our supervision offer.

Workshops and Educational Programmes

We also offer specialist youth work led programmes for schools such as our #timetotalk programme.

#time2talk KS3 & KS4

Unlike many educative strategies designed to tackle VAWG, the #timetotalk project aims to include boys in essential conversations, providing them with safe, reflective space and time to explore the issues that underpin misogyny, patriarchy and gender-based violence. The programme is delivered over six weeks by skilled and experienced male practitioners with youth work and teaching experience. Topics explored in depth include, understanding misogyny and patriarchy, gender bias and inequality, sexting, objectification, pornography and media influences.

Schools are provided with a detailed project impact report at the end of delivery and resources to facilitate discussions with wider pupil populations. This programme has received Home Office Funding Via the Safer Streets Fund 3 (SSF3) and has been re-commissioned via the Safer Streets Fund 4 (SSF4) to be delivered in secondary schools across the West Midlands Footprint. If you are a school in Coventry, Solihull, Sandwell, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, or Dudley you may be eligible for funding for this programme.

We provide group and 1:1 safeguarding supervision to DSLs, DDSLs, safeguarding and pastoral teams. This can be delivered virtually via MS Teams or Zoom or face to face.

Safeguarding Supervision Hub

At Safer Together we recognise that safeguarding work is complex and that in the current climate, when services are feeling the fall-out of the COVID-19 pandemic, this complexity is likely to be felt even more acutely.

Often, when caseloads increase and capacity is an issue, supervision and training may be paused, or even ceased. Learning from statutory review processes frequently highlights the need for effective supervision processes to be an embedded part of safeguarding practice. We are on hand to provide all the safeguarding supervision support you need. We offer group reflective supervision and 1:1 supervision which is provided by skilled, experienced, and fully trained supervisors. Sessions can be delivered both face to face and virtually.

In addition to providing safeguarding supervision sessions, we also train practitioners to become safeguarding supervisors. Our 2 day fully interactive course provides delegates with an understanding of the theoretical concepts of supervision and a safe space to practically apply learning.
